Sharing yoga with laughter, lightness and positivism...
About Carrie
Carrie began practicing yoga during her college career at St. Lawrence University. She was passed on a book about Hatha Yoga practice and was immediately drawn to the rhythmic patterns that were illustrated and described so thoroughly. As the self teachings evolved she eventually found her way into Ashtanga and Power Yoga but ultimately grounded herself in a 200 hour teacher training at an Hatha Iyengar-influenced teacher training with Francois Raoult of Open Sky Yoga studio in Rochester, NY, her hometown.
Here the world of true yoga tradition came to life in the studies of pranayama, asana, philosophy and Ayurveda. She would go on to gain certifications teaching yoga for back care and prenatal/postpartum yoga.
As life unfurled, she then became a mother of two boys and it would be these ancient teachings that gave her the tools to manage the evolution from woman to mother. She continues to foster this growth by maintaining a daily practice in meditation and movement, no matter what.
Life is what you make it and in the yoga classroom you’ll explore this with her in an organic blend of meditation, movement and breath. Her teaching is firmly rooted in classic yoga postures guided by body awareness and intuition. Without the practice in movement we may not gain the softness we need as humans to still the mind, thus a beautiful yoga practice is born. The practice of finding the true you.

Experience

Carrie has trained at the Open Sky Yoga Center in Rochester, NY with Francois Raoult, where she received her 200 Hour Essential Teacher Training Certification in 2013.
She immediately went on to share yoga with the public at Finger Lakes Yoga Center in Canandaigua, NY. She taught yoga extensively for employees of Wegmans Food Markets, Canandaigua National Bank and Constellation Brands. She has also had the privilege of teaching one on one, or two for those seeking more individualized instruction.
She has since received a certificate in Back Care Yoga Teacher Training from Open Sky Yoga Center. Having experienced back pain and incredibly tight muscles, Carrie teaches from her own learned benefits. This is truly a yoga practice for all, whether you want to maintain a healthy spine or are looking to ease chronic pain, there is a place for yoga in your life!
Most recently she has received a teaching certificate in Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga with Carla Anselm of the Open Sky Yoga Center.
The prenatal/postpardum yoga practice was essential to her preparation for the birth of both her sons Connor and Gavin, as well as the recovery. She thrives on sharing this knowledge with other mothers who expect themselves to be as they once were. The yoga practice helps guide us and honor all that we are now.
Her journey is continuously inspired by new healing modalities, evolving styles of yoga and energy healing.
